Robocalls are only getting worse. Most of us have been a victim of these calls, but that all could be changing when IOS 13 releases in September.
Silence Unknown Callers in IOS 13 will protect users from unknown and spam callers. When the setting is turned on, iOS uses Siri intelligence to allow calls to ring your phone from numbers in Contacts, Mail, and Messages. All other calls are automatically sent to voicemail.
While there is a lot of services out there that do this kind of thing, most of them cost you monthly or annually. For example, Nomorobo is an app that charges $1.99 a month or $19.99 annually. This may not seem like much, but when you can have it for free, why not? Also, Apple's solution will silence these calls automatically without you doing anything. None of the other apps can do this.
According to YouMail, A robocalling blocking service, Americans received an estimated 3.36 Billion robocalls placed in April 2018.
In May, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposed to block robocalls by default. While that implementation may take some time, iOS 13’s new feature can help you avoid these annoying calls.
