Apple chose today to send out invitations to the Worldwide Developers Conference.
The presentation will take place at 10 a.m. PT on Monday, June 3 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. This will mark the 3rd time Apple has done the event in San Jose.
WWDC is where Apple takes the stage to talk about upcoming updates on the software side of things. Holding an event completely for software shows Apple's ambition in creating a seamless experience beyond hardware. This is what sets Apple apart from rivals.
These events are becoming more and more important as consumers are holding onto their devices even longer. Apple is starting to focus more on software and services to help with falling iPhone sales even though they are still selling millions of them every quarter. While people hold onto their devices, longer monthly subscriptions could be the break Apple has been looking for. This is why Apple has made augmented reality, mobile payments, streaming music, and other areas key focuses over the past couple of years.
